This is why I tolerate the insults.

It was a good man who gave you that book. It was a better Man who died and was raised up from human death 2000 years ago so that a good man might care enough to share the good news of the Gospel of God with you. May God bless you richly!

Penn Gillette is one of my favorite atheists. That he’s this reasonable is why.

Nance, this reminds me of something Dr. Walter Martin once said concerning a conversation he had with Rocky Marciano, the only heavyweight champ that was never defeated in the ring.

Marciano had great power but he had to get up close before he could unleash it. So he developed a style of fighting called “peek-a-boo” where he would cover up and move in on his opponent. He would take a ton of blows on his arms, body, and sometimes his head, but he just kept on moving forward til he could deliver his punch.

Dr. Martin thought that was a wonderfully accurate image of Christian witnessing. You take the “blows”, the insults just waiting for a chance to deliver your “punch”, the Gospel.

It doesn’t matter what abuse you take, though like Rocky you need people in your corner. Your family, friends, your church. You just need that one opening, that one shot.

Because just like Marciano was undefeated so is the Gospel. You may not see the results of your “punches”. It may take months or even years but the work you are doing for the glory of Christ won’t be unfruitful.

Keep up the good “fight”, Nance. I admire you for the way you fight the fight with such intellegence and grace. I will keep you in my prayers.

    Steve

    Steve-
I am grateful to have friends like you “in my corner!” I pledge to pray for you and your ministry as well. Blessings to you!

“Hello. I am a seminary student and I need to interview a practicing wiccan for class tomorrow. I haven’t had much luck finding someone willing to chat with me. Perhaps you would agree to an interview? I am very curious of your faith.”

I would like to help, however I’m not wiccan, just pagan..
If that’s ok, you can e-mail me at dragoncooky@cox.net
